The Gülmek İyileştirir Association and the Pharmetic Entrepreneur Pharmacists Association (PGED) launched Turkey’s most comprehensive social responsibility project ever carried out through pharmacies, under the slogan “Play is the right of every child.”

Through this collaboration, it is aimed to reach 100,000 people via informative brochures distributed across 100 pharmacies, and to open a brand-new Hygienic Play Center—completely free of charge—for children undergoing cancer treatment, whose immune systems are suppressed, preventing them from socializing or attending school. The center will be funded by the income generated from the sale of Gülmek İyileştirir Foundation products in participating pharmacies.

4th Hygienic Play Center for Little Cancer Warriors

Through the joint efforts of the Pharmetic Entrepreneur Pharmacists Association and the Gülmek İyileştirir Association, the 4th Hygienic Play Center will be established for little cancer warriors.

The Gülmek İyileştirir Association provides psycho-social support to children and their families who are battling serious illnesses and in need of joy and laughter. With its free-of-charge services in Altunizade, Şişli, and Pendik (Istanbul), the Foundation aims to enable more children to experience the healing power of play through its Hygienic Play Centers.

Through its partnership with PGED, the project aims to reach 100,000 people via brochures in 100 pharmacies, and to use the proceeds from product sales to fund a new Hygienic Play Center for children whose immune systems are compromised and who cannot attend school or socialize due to cancer treatment.

The Largest Social Responsibility Project in Turkey Carried Out Through Pharmacies

The Gülmek İyileştirir Foundation and the Pharmetic Entrepreneur Pharmacists Association, inspired by the motto “Play is the right of every child,” have launched the most extensive social responsibility project ever implemented through pharmacies in Turkey. The project was introduced at a promotional meeting held in June at the Moda Deniz Club, hosted by the Foundation’s Board Member İlker Ayrık.

In his speech, Ayrık said: “With the support of so many wonderful pharmacists, I believe this project is a success. Together, we are opening our 4th center in Samsun on May 19!” At the meeting, PGED President Armağan Ener expressed their pleasure in being part of this significant act of kindness. Aslı Bastıyalı, the Founder of the Gülmek İyileştirir Foundation, shared the challenges she faced during her daughters’ leukemia treatment, explaining how much children with weakened immune systems need special hygienic play areas, and how, after her daughter’s recovery, she founded the Foundation to bring smiles to these children and their families through Hygienic Play Centers and free psychological support.

The project has received great attention and support from PGED members. Starting from August, delivery of bracelets and hygiene kits—to be sold in pharmacies to raise funds for the new Hygienic Play Center—has begun. The project, which started in Istanbul, is expected to expand to other provinces and grow into a nationwide movement of goodness.
